Tom, I have a rather trivial question, but it's bugging me. I only read the first book (maybe this is clarified in a later novel) and am on the lookout for the rest, but: How old is Victor? We know he's been in the business for quite a long time (around at least ten years), so I'm guessing somewhere between thirty and forty-five?
