(view spoiler)[In Shards of Honor, what was the role of the chief surgeon as the second agent in Emperor Ezar’s plan? Surely not just to corroborate Aral’s opportunistic explanation to Illyan of obtaining the Plasma Mirror information from Cordelia under interrogation drugs too late to help or cancel the invasion (Cordelia’s capture could not have been foreseen). Something to do with the Prince?

If you think it through like Ezar... and it says something about Cordelia that she could, it was to assure that if the Prince were rushed injured into surgery, he would not make it out alive.

I can understand you not wanting to write another book. I was rereading Brother in Arms and Mirror Dance; seems they would have been intense. And all your newer books are full sized. Have you thought about a series of short stories or novellas to continue the Miles universe? A little Miles, a little Simon or Alys, a little Cordelia, a little Ivan, a little Gregor? Or even focus on little stories about their children?

Did you know the astronauts on the ISS are reading your books?https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/books/features/astronauts-international-space-station-books-story-time-tim-peak-a8469681.html I think the list needs more female identifying sci-fi authors but your books are a great start.

Question for the Sharing Knife Universe: Are there any 'large' cities in Luthlia, or nothing by small towns the size of Glassforge and the like. I recon Ironforge is easily 15 - 20 thousand people, Glassforge is 5 Thousand. I can't see anything in Luthlia being larger the 5K people, from the carrying capacity (agricultural capacity) of the land. Or is it just small family encampments?
