My heart breaks for him. He has spent so many years walking alone carrying the burden of killing anyone he touched, even if that person was undeserving or even loved by Aric. And the one person he could have a future with only sort to cause him pain over and over again. Evie is supposedly a reformed version of the Red Witch and yes maybe she has made some selfless choices which she other wise wouldn't have considered in previous games but stringing along two men is a crueler punishment than if she were to declare war on them. Aric deserves love, someone who cherishes him unconditionally. He deserves someone who can give him 100 % of their heart, not Evie's measly 50%.
