I would really like to see a review written by someone who is 300 or 400 pounds overweight and really addicted than people who do nothing but laugh and complain about the food plan etc who obviously have no weight problems or very little weight to lose and think they know better than the author. Any takers?

I was around 200 pounds overweight too. All my life I had tried diets that were like this one - strict rules around sugar and processed carbs, meal times, measured amounts always and so on. And I had always failed. It wasn't because I was addicted to sugar either, it was because the abstinence model doesn't work for everyone contrary to what the author would have you believe!! How I finally lost the weight was through following a healthy moderate diet with basic calorie tracking, with occasional treats planned, and not allowing myself to feel guilty or ashamed if I slipped up. I have maintained my loss for four years now and I am happy and healthy AND I get to enjoy amazing foods like croissant, cake and chocolate every now and then. Clearly the BLE diet appeals to people who like authoritarian regimes in their personal life, and if that's you then great, you do you. But the author's claims that this is the best weight loss program is quite spurious and not backed up by reputable scientific evidence. If you look it up on Google Scholar (peer-reviewed papers), there is not one mention of it at all besides the book itself. If it's so good, then where is the data and research showing it?

I am 200+ pounds overweight. I started the plan of no flour and no sugar, eating the amounts prescribed and only eating at meal times. I was a 10 on her susceptibility scale, meaning I am very addicted to food. I love the program and this is coming from someone who tried so many times to lose weight and get healthy but something always didn't feel right for me and I lost interest or lost my will to continue. No more. I have found the plan that will take me through the rest of my life - there's no stopping me. Peace
