They are each stand alone books, meaning that you do not have to have read previous books to enjoy each. However, they do all go together and build on the same world, and each book will make more sense if you read the previous one.
Andrew Scarpati
Go back, read the first book, and then stop there. But in all seriousness, I have no idea why the second and third books in a TRILOGY say on each one that they are 'stand alone'. Yes, Spiral has a plot summary mid way for 'Ring' and 'Loop' has one for both of the previous books, but you still should read the previous books if you intend to read the entire trilogy.
One Flew
Read the Ring first. It does give a reasonable plot summary in Spiral, but a lot would be lost.
