If the genders were reversed and Male Macy walked in on female Elliot this wouldn't be a debate. How the authors got away with just dropping that plot line as an explanation for why they didn't communicate for 11 years...

It even explains why Rachel was so vile to Macy upon meeting her. Can you imagine accepting your ex's invitation to Thanksgiving because he doesn't want you to be alone, only to come face to face with the girl who you're sure must've known he was raped and then ghosted him for 11 years? As if it were his fault? I'd scream in your face too.
