Goodreads asked Roxanne Veletzos:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Roxanne Veletzos I've found that the best way to deal with writer's block, especially when I get stuck on a particular passage or transition to a chapter is to push through it. If I write and re-write it enough times as opposed to putting it aside or moving to a different part of the novel, eventually I will have a breakthrough. That being said, if I find myself at a dead-end for a long time, I usually step back and look at the story structure - perhaps the story needs to be told from a different perspective or start at a different point in time. It's a fine line but ultimately, I always try to keep in mind Maya Angelou's advice to writers: Writing is a bit like a sport, a flexing of muscles, and you have to force yourself to write even when you feel like all of your creativity has left you.
