Kim, so sorry for such a late response! Somehow your message slipped by unseen! Yes, I just completed a second novel of historical fiction, due out for publication in summer of 2021. Thank you so much for your support! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed THE GIRL THEY LEFT BEHIND!

I have not written anything in Romanian. I left the country when I was very young, and while I can converse pretty fluently, I fear that writing in my native language at this level would be a difficult task. I am however, fascinated with Romania's history and am already planning another novel which will tie in elements of its recent past. I am very excited to continue writing about my native country and hope my readers will be as well!

I just completed a second novel which takes the reader from pre-war, rural Hungary, to the Budapest of the 1980s, to the art scene of modern-day New York City. Without giving too much away, I will say that it is a story of self-discovery and of a lost love that spans more than fifty years which has a deep impact on the lives of three generations of women.

I've found that the best way to deal with writer's block, especially when I get stuck on a particular passage or transition to a chapter is to push through it. If I write and re-write it enough times as opposed to putting it aside or moving to a different part of the novel, eventually I will have a breakthrough. That being said, if I find myself at a dead-end for a long time, I usually step back and look at the story structure - perhaps the story needs to be told from a different perspective or start at a different point in time. It's a fine line but ultimately, I always try to keep in mind Maya Angelou's advice to writers: Writing is a bit like a sport, a flexing of muscles, and you have to force yourself to write even when you feel like all of your creativity has left you.
