A Goodreads user asked Michael Robotham:

It's so honored to talk to you. I'm really thrilled on your Joe's series. Now reading #7 Watching You and have one question. Marnie and Zoe exchange "Even to the post office" with their kisses. English is my 2nd language and I can't find its meaning from nowhere even google. Would you give me a hint? and I'll share it with my bookclub members. Great thanks to your masterpieces. Michael Robotham 'Even to the Post Office' is a line I stole from a wonderful old couple I met years ago. They had been married for 50 years and whenever one of them left the house - even on a minor errand such as posting a letter, they kissed the other one and said goodbye.
For me the line 'Even to the Post Office' is a reminder that none of us know when you might lose someone suddenly without having the opportunity to say goodbye.
