Did anyone else feel like Gleb Botkin and his sister were just as much a part of the tragedy as Anastasia/Anna Anderson? To lose their father, to spend their entire lives trying to prove that someone close to them HAD survived something so horrific, and die before finding out the truth? To me, that was the saddest part of the novel-- anyone know the truth of the Botkin story?

Katherine Yes! I thought the same thing but know nothing of the Botkin story. Their father was so loyal to the Romanov family, and although he was smart enough to remove his kids from an escalating situation, they still suffered a great deal.
