I just finished "The Library at Mount Char". I must read more of your books! Are you writing a new book? Hope you'll write a lot more fiction books. Looking forward to reading them. You are very talented. Never read a book like this one.

Hi Yael,
Thanks! Yes, I'm getting close. There's a full-ish draft on paper--sixeteen chapters and 133,781 words as of 9:42 a.m. on April 29, 2018.
The way I work is to do stuff in sort of random order without worrying too much about continuity or order or anything other than the vaguest notions of plot. When I've got a pile of scenes that I like, I spend a couple weeks with coffee and a spreadsheet working out details. Then I go back through and Frankenstein the whole thing together.
That's the stage I'm at now. I'll probably finish up the continuity edit of chapter 9 tonight or tomorrow.
Once that's done, I do one last pass for polish. That will go quick. Then it's off to the beta readers for feedback.
Anyway, it should be done shortly. Like, weeks instead of months.
It's in the same vein as Mount Char in the sense that it's a fantasy set in the modern world. It's a kind of noir detective story, with a supernatural twist and a lot of black humor.
Thanks for reading--I swear I'm on this 3h day, every day. Sorry it's taking so long.

Hi Scott! I LOVED Library at Mount Char. Currently I am attempting to write my own novel, but I am having trouble bringing myself out of the book-mapping stage. I have all of these almost done outlines but feel like I need to finish them before I start writing otherwise I won't have continuity throughout my novels. Do you have any advice for an aspiring writer? Library @MC was done so well!!

Some serious questions!
- What does Margaret actually _do_? Is she useless in the normal universe?
- Why did Margaret not find Adam Black in the underworld? (I forget what you named it)
- A super pedantic point: You mention at one stage a catalog of 'mercy', was this just meant to be part of the healing catalog?

Hi Scott! Mt. Char was mind blowing, thank you! How long had you been holding on to the idea of Mt. Char before you were able to put it into words on paper? Do you have any more ideas percolating? Have you read any mind blowing books yourself? another favorite of mine is "A fistfull of Sky". crazy good!
