Goodreads asked Cameron Darrow:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Cameron Darrow Read. You're probably stuck because you have nothing to say, or you don't know how to say it. Reading can provide a solution to both cases, giving you inspiration when you need it most.

Conversely, force yourself to write. Do word sprints, and try to jog something loose from your imagination by forcing it to engage. You may turn out a lot of crap, but there may be something in there you can polish later. It's all potentially useful when you switch from writer's brain to editor's brain.

The most important thing is not to give into it and do nothing. Either take in something new or put out something new. Don't avoid it. This made all the difference to me, and keeping that in mind and using the above tricks are the reason I have anything published at all!
