Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

C.A. Hocking Sarah Ann Elliott was my great-great-great grandmother. When I began researching her life, I discovered an extraordinary story about a woman who survived things we would consider unimaginable nowadays. And I discovered an unexpected love story set against the backdrop of Victorian England. So much of her life paralleled my own that I began to feel as if she was walking around inside me. And I had to write her story. Well, my version of it anyway.
