Keep at it! Our writing will only improve if we keep developing our skills and talent. Be fearless. Be yourself. Don't be a copycat. Find your own voice and use it. Learn the rules and then break them! And never ever stop writing.

I've just published the first book in the SARAH ANN ELLIOTT series and have already started the second book. At the same time, I'm working on a short novel called OLD FARTS ON A BUS, which is about ... Old Farts on a bus. In Egypt. For a two week package tour. And it's more fun that a barrel of monkey - or Old Farts.

Inspiration has never been a problem for me. Writing is what I do, who I am and how I identify myself. And it's a great way to channel a sometimes rather wild imagination! We are surrounded by stories. Everyone has a story, but sometimes it needs a writer's mind to see those stories. I am never uninspired.

Sarah Ann Elliott was my great-great-great grandmother. When I began researching her life, I discovered an extraordinary story about a woman who survived things we would consider unimaginable nowadays. And I discovered an unexpected love story set against the backdrop of Victorian England. So much of her life paralleled my own that I began to feel as if she was walking around inside me. And I had to write her story. Well, my version of it anyway.
