Yes and no. This book definitely stands on its own. However, I think that you should at least be familiar with the Devil Wears Prada (whether you read the book years ago or watched the movie). I think that you could read this book as a standalone. It has been years since I read the other books in the series. But I did read recaps recently to remind myself of what happened in the Devil Wears Prada. The characters from that series are referenced in When Life Gives You Lululemons. And some even appear in the book. So it's better if you know who Miranda is and what Emily's life was like working for her.(less)
