I wouldn't say that it's scary, but there are definitely some creepy moments! I hate horror books as well and did fine with this book. Some parts gave me the shivers, but in a good way!

I had the same concerns, because I also hate horror novels, but I didn't have any problems with this book. Like Hannah said, some creepy moments, but it's not truly scary. If you like books that linger in your mind (in a good way) long after you've finished them, you might enjoy this one.
