Lex’s Library
Lex’s Library asked Gail Carson Levine:

What's a question you've wanted an interviewer or Goodreads to ask, but have never been inquired to you? What's your answer? Do you prefer writing with music or silence? What's the longest time you had writer's block, and what got you out of it?

Gail Carson Levine I'm rarely asked about MY favorite part of one of my books. Usually, it's something that pops up and surprises me and contains a twist or a new revelation about a character. I write in silence. I've never gotten so blocked that I can't write at all, but I do get lost and confused. When I wrote STOLEN MAGIC, the confusion lasted so long that the book took over four years to write.
