I have to start off by saying I adore your work and am very excited to see the movie adaption of THE GIVER (and be a nerd to compare the differences between the book & movie, but that's neither here nor there). How do you find the right balance between emotion-delving and action in a story?

Lois Lowry I'm actually not very good at that. I never put enough action n my books. That's why they had to add it when they made the movie.
