The idea for my most recent book, A FORBIDDEN RUMSPRINGA, blossomed from a conversation with an M/M book blogger about Google seaches for "hot Amish men."
There are so many hetero Amish romances that fall into the "sweet" and "inspirational" categories (i.e. no sex and Christian themes), and I thought it would be interesting to write a realistic gay Amish romance that doesn't fade to black or have a religious message. (Religion plays a huge role in the lives of the characters, but the story isn't preaching to readers.)
I researched the different Amish sects thoroughly and learned a lot from ex-Amish who generously shared their stories. It was fascinating!
