Do you ever feel like changing the genre? Or trying out something which is unusual for your style?

As more of my books come out, I think you'll find that "suspense" is really the common thread. They might have aspects of horror, thriller, sci-fi, even romance, mixed in, but my true genre is suspense. In other words, I mix it up. I do tend to try new things with each book, the one I'm writing now is greatly influenced by Great Expectations. Personally I feel that by challenging myself to new things, the writing stays fresh.

After JK Rowlings wrote her non-Harry Potter books under a pseudonym some professor figured out she was the real author. With your ability to mimic the style of authors and "hear" their voice do you think you could fool the pros if, say, you finished Austen's Sanditon or Dicken's Mystery of Edwin Drood & claim it was their lost works?

Obviously, you write great books on your own. Why write with another, albeit well-known, author? Is it just to sell more books? Genuinely perplexed by this, as his name is co-author on so many books. In the two I've read by two authors, I just try to figure who wrote which part (except for Swedish couple Lars Kepler).
