Hi Paul. I actually create playlists for each book, and, sometimes, for different parts of each book. I tend to find a theme song for each character, then re-name that song in iTunes so I can call it up when I'm in a really heavy part for that character. Music reinforces the mood I'm looking to create, and I find it helps me dive deeper — especially when I am writing the difficult, emotional parts, when I am writing about dark things that I don't like but are critical to the story.
