Debora Fehrenbach

Am I the only one who thinks both Ethan and Sutton's personalities completely changed at the end?

Cora Yes, totally agree. The ending didn't really seem to fit the whole story...
Rachel Completely agree, not much consistency throughout the book. Everything was just to fit the narrative the author was trying to portray…
Susan NO, you're not! They were thoroughly unlikeable people for 3/4 of the novel...and then at the end they're suddenly this sweet, understanding, lovey-dovey mom- and dad-to-be.
Eva very much. sutton runs away to paris and then is desperate to get back with ethan even though he maybe abuses her (not clear from the story)?
Robert Personality rarely changes much not at that age. I can see the shared tragedy bringing them together for now but in real life that would be temporary. I'm not buying the idea of a permanent reconciliation.
