Emily asked this question about Sing, Unburied, Sing:
MAJOR SPOILER: Do you think Pop killed Richie as a mercy, or to get in the good graces of the prison higher-ups? Wanting to like Pop leads me to believe the former, and he says something about how we give animals better deaths than the lynch mob was giving Blue. But Pop does benefit from killing Richie, and I personally wasn't convinced Richie couldn't have kept running while the mob was distracted. Thoughts?
Leslie Pop knew what the mob would do to Richie so he killed Richie himself out of mercy and, I think, paternal love.
