I know that you were writing before it became the "in thing". Does it bother you that there are so many writers now? Specifically the indie writers? Or do you feel like you just have more friends?

Brenda Hiatt I've definitely made quite a few new friends among indie authors, both those who have only ever been indie and many like me, who started out traditionally pubbed. The only thing that "bothers" me about the flood of authors now entering the market (because it's become so easy) is that many of them aren't taking the time and effort to put out their best work in their hurry to get books up. I worry that gives all indie authors a bad name, which isn't fair to those of us who DO take that time and effort, and who bring many years of experience to the game. I trust that cream will rise to the top, though, eternal optimist that I am! :)
