What would you say is the most important thing about being a writer and what you like most about it? I just find that sometimes maybe my aspiration to be on the bestseller list is not the most important thing and I know it isn't, but I've just always wanted people to want to read my writing. What do you think?

That's a really hard question, Anna. For me, it's important that my writing helps and encourages and entertains people, and for that reason, being a bestseller and having lots of people read it IS important. So I think it's a great idea to pray for our books to be on bestseller lists and in libraries and for the most possible people to read them. There's nothing wrong with wanting your work to count, to be a blessing, and to be successful. May God bless you and your writing, Anna!

Hola, Melanie! I've enjoyed your books (unfortunately I've only read two) and I was wondering when you started writing. I will be 17 in a couple months and I enjoy writing, but I've never quite finished a book and sometimes it's challenging. Was it easy writing your first book? And do you have any tips? (Oh, and Mulan would be a cool story, if you ever want to write it, but I'll leave that up to you and God) Thanks!!
