Don't spend too much time getting mired in plotting and worldbuilding. Those are two super important things, so don't neglect them completely! But I see a lot of would-be writers trap themselves in the planning stages and never get around to writing their story.
The other thing is to listen to critique. It can be hard, but it's how we improve. Don't write off people as "haters" or "jealous" just because you don't like what they're saying. Chances are, they're just being honest. And even if you don't completely agree with their point of view, you can still learn something from them.
