Taylor Greene
Taylor Greene asked Shaun David Hutchinson:

There seems to be a theme in your books with religious skeptics and religious figures. Are you religious, and if so how does it affect your writing?

Shaun David Hutchinson This is an interesting question, thank you for asking. Truthfully, I’m an agnostic. I was brought up protestant and converted to catholicism around middle school, but my family has never been particularly spiritual. I think religion can play an important role in people’s lives, and even if I don’t agree with or worship any particular religion, I think it’s important to question spirituality and its place in our lives. I’ve also been grateful to know many open-minded and wonderful religious people (Father Mike from The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley was inspired by a priest I knew), so I want to portray as many sides of religion as I can.
