Goodreads asked Dexter Carr Jr.:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Dexter Carr Jr. When I get writer's block, I take a step back and take a bird's eye view of what I've written so far. If it's character dialogue, I put myself in their shoes and really get into character. It's actually kinda fun lol. If it's the story that has me in a bind, I take that break and when I come back, I reread what I've written before I stopped and then just write without thinking too much. That way the story writes itself. Then I read over to make sure it all makes sense.
