I would say Into the Wild is better. I need to reread it to be able to comment more on the specifics. One important thing, though, Into the Wild is not a memoir, Wild is, but Shayna is right, they are both about personal journeys, but VERY DIFFERENT reasons for taking the journey (and also VERY DIFFERENT transformations and outcomes).

They’re really different books! Can’t compare them really aside from they’re both books where people set out on personal journeys in the wild.

Into the Wild is an exceptionally better book about wilderness, experiences, and growth. Wild is basically a drugged out slut bumbling around determining it's ok to be a drugged out slut that strains any sense of credibility on a number of facets.
