A lot of people ask me if I've done any fencing. Unfortunately, no. Although I would love to. I just do a lot of research, and hope that I'm not messing up too badly. Sounds like I may be "faking it" pretty well ;-)

Hi Michael! I recently finished Riyria Revelations and Riyria chronicles on recommendation from my mom, who also loves your books! They hooked me from beginning to end, and kept me entertained for many nights during quarantine! I am writing a fantasy novel and while a lot of people I know find it fun, it's kind of intimidating! Do you plan out the history, world, and cultures in your books before you start writing? Or do you write first and see where that takes you? Thanks!
