Is anyone else worried Zoya and Nikolai might be paired up in this? They are both great characters, but together? Disaster! Disaster for them and anyone unfortunate enough to be in the vicinity.

Nikolai explicitly stated in Ruin and Rising that he was NOT interested in Zoya. I kind of feel like Leigh Bardugo is just pairing up the two remaining single characters left. He honestly should have ended up with Alina. Both him and Alina had first-hand experienced the Darkling's wrath, and it also would have solved the problem of his marriage (with Alina being a Saint).(less)
