I've recently started reading The Masked City and now I'm wondering - would always carrying around a device that has lots of e-books saved on it enable a Librarian to open a door to the Library in any room of their choosing?

(A lot of Librarians are _very_ sad that this doesn't work. It would make their lives so much easier and safer.)

After thinking a bit more about the nature of the library, I was wondering if there was any Information about the first piece of writing that the Library ever collected. And maybe in that vein, is there something like a tome of the librarys history? Best Regards, Nik
