Did Galen have Barrayaran-style prejudices against uterine replicators and homosexuality? Mark implies that he was exposed to slurs against both from Galen himself, and it seemed like Mark didn't just know about Barrayar's prejudices in an academic way, but really felt them. Was Galen putting on an act, or was he truly biased? If he was biased, was such bias common on Komarr?
Lois McMaster Bujold
Komarr is relatively socially liberal, although not as much as Beta Colony. Galen's prejudices -- or hatreds, more precisely -- are of Barrayar in general and Aral Vorkosigan in particular, for which any ammunition to hand would serve.
Uterine replicators, certainly, would be common background tech from a Komarran's point of view; it would be like being prejudiced against, I dunno, pick the routine medical technology of your choice. IV drips, MRI scans, ventilators. But anything can be hurled as an insult if the irate person is distraught enough.

I just purchased & downloaded Penric's Fox for my Kindle. However, Amazon showed this book as "Penric's Fox: Penric and Desdemona Book 3 [Kindle Edition]". I have already read & very much enjoyed the first 3 Penric novellas so Amazon should have listed Penric's Fox as Book 4, right? It did have the "See inside" and I could clearly see it had the text of Penric's Fox. Thanks for the Penric/Desdemona series!!

Heading to Dublin for WorldCon 2019 tomorrow with questions all planned for your kaffeeklatsch, only to discover you won't be there! So glad to see there's an alternative that you're active on, so I can ask my questions here instead. Since I'm character-limited, I'll split them into multiples. First question: do you have a page where you publish your con schedule, or does one have to dig through your blog?
