However, it's not inappropriate at all for the target middle grade (my interpretation is 4th-7th grade) audience and deals with issues in a wonderfully tactful way that little kids can understand. I'd say first book 7/8+, second book 9+, third book 10+, fourth book 10/11+.(less)
