Stephen P. Kiernan:
I recently read The Baker's Secret and the Hummingbird. I like your genuine style of writing very much but find myself hesitant to pick up The Curiosity. The premise is a bit far-fetched and flirts too much with the supernatural, which I am not a fan of. Would you say the book focuses on relationships between characters more than science? Also, what is your next novel about?
Stephen P. Kiernan
Hi Alison and thanks for the great questions.
The Curiosity is not in the least about supernatural things. It is about the ethical questions that arise when science outpaces morals. It is about how our society today reacts to a unique person. And it is a love story -- so yes, the characters are at the center, as they are in all my books.
Thank you for reading my other novels.
My next book is still in the early stages, because it is requiring a huge amount of research. It concerns a bit player in the Manhattan Project, who went on to be a genius in a very different field.

Hi Stephen! I have a few "technical issues" for lack of a better phrase, with your wonderful new book, Universe of Two. A bit detailed to explain but maybe you can look at my review to see the issues which confused me? There were two tiny details which didn't track for me, and one other conclusion about Brenda not returning to Chicago which seemed odd. Curious if I did not understand correctly. Wonderful book though!!

I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoy your stories. I read The Baker's Secret upon recommendation from another book lover and when I finished it, I immediately went to the bookstore looking for your other novels. You are amongst the best storytellers today. Reading The Hummingbird now. What can we look forward to with your stories?
