Should I read this book? The first three are my favorite books ever and I want nothing more than to have fifty more red rising books until the end of time. But I love Darrow, and from the reviews I've seen it looks like he goes down a dark path in this book and I don't want that to ruin the experience of the other books for me. Please give me some advice.

This was a major disappointment after loving the first 3. I almost never abandon a book before finishing, but this was so painfully boring that I had no choice. I had even taken a break from it to read something else, with the hope I'd be more receptive to it later, but it found it just as awful when I returned to it. It's never a good sign when an author attempts to resurrect a completed trilogy. It often means they've run out of fresh ideas, so desperately attempt to rehash their old ones.(less)
