I have not read any of them in order and it doesn't matter. all you need to know is he was a Marine sinper and has a metal hip. Both of which is brought up in every book

I always tell readers to start with "Hot Springs," but this one is even earlier, so it may be the best story to launch the Swaggers for you.

I did the same thing and wasn't lost at all. Enjoyed this book very much, even though it isn't the sort of book I normally read. Great fictionalized history.
tip
You absolutely must read "Point of Impact" first and at least yearly after that. It is one of the best books about shooting and shooters you will ever read. Bob the Nailer's history and psychology are presented truthfully and with a great deal of compassion. It only becomes more relevant each and every year. P.S. Don't bother seeing the movie ?based? on the book. They totally misunderstood it(if they even read the book). They apparently thought it was about killing people.
