Cintia asked Kelly Bowen:

I'm an aspiring writer, but I'm dealing with two things: I get discouraged every single day because 96% of manuscripts are rejected, and I haven't had an idea for years, literally. There's too many people wanting to be writers, and knowing there's so much competition just kills me a little every day. When I get motivated, immediatly something appears about the industry that kills it. Any tips on how to deal with this?

Kelly Bowen Write the story that is yours to tell. try not to worry too much about what fads are cool in the industry and write what you love. My 'first' book was not at all my first book - and I have a stack of rejection letters to prove it. Be prepared to get rejected - and if you can, look for advice in those rejections that you can use to make your writing better. Published authors still get rejected all the time with new ideas. All I can say is just keep writing. Think of 'failure' as just another step toward success!
