Goodreads asked David Partelow:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

David Partelow Quite simply...write! That is what makes a writer a writer. Too many people doubt whether or not they can write and it ultimately stops them from being a writer. You will never improve as a writer sitting around wondering if you can be a writer. If you have a story, tell it. Write it out. It matters not if it is sloppy. You can go back later and refine. Give yourself a chance to find your voice and let it come alive on the page. Don't take criticism too harshly. Remember that even the great authors out there have been rejected and had their works reviewed poorly. No story is for everyone. But your story WILL be for someone.
