Hi ANDREA! I'm trying to understand the reason for Twitter and even Goodreads as promotion of oneself as an upcoming author. Is it necessary and whats good enough? Any good advice for a marketing novice? (I so wish I could just write and leave the promotion etc to someone else!)

Andrea Dunlop Hi Leela, No one platform is necessary, but having a presence on social media is important and can lead to a ton of great opportunities. My best advice is to pick one social media outlet that you love and focus on building up a following there. Lots of folks try to do it all and then get really overwhelmed. So find a platform you have fun with and focus your efforts there! Hope that helps.
