Do I need to read "after you" before I read "still me"? Based on the reviews of "after you" I sort of want to avoid it at all costs.

Sam & Lily are introduced and developed in After You, and not a lot of reintroducing happens in Still Me, it just dives in. I don't think I would've enjoyed Still Me as much had I not had the development of characters that took place in After You. And I really did enjoy it!(less)
