Personally, I'd love to teach it to high schoolers alongside To Kill a Mockingbird and Cry, the Beloved Country as three contrasting views of race and racism. Maybe as a wrap-up we could read Chinua Achebe? If I ever become a literature teacher, man . . .(less)
