Why are so many 40k novels about the Imperium vs Chaos or just Chaos? What do we have to do to get more Xeno's novels?
James Swallow
Black Library publish fiction about what is popular in Warhammer 40,000, and Imperial and Chaos factions are the most popular. There have been several Xenos books/audios/comics - there's a fair amount of Eldar stuff, for example - but generally the rule from editorial is that fiction has to be written from a human or near-human viewpoint to make it commerically viable. A novel written in orky-speak would probably not sell that well.
If you want to get more Xenos fiction, write to BL and tell them that's what you'd like to see.

Hello! I'm curious, are you planning on writing any more novels set in Deus Ex universe? Maybe something set around the events of the original game, or even the second (I know a lot of people don't like DX2, but I guess I'm one of the exceptions)? I've read all three books, they did an awesome job expanding on the lore, and they actually inspired me to write a couple of fanfiction pieces of my own. Regards.

1) When we will see a novel about Mortarion and Death Guard corruption on a road to Terra? Cause all that we saw for the last years of HH from you - is mainly Garro stuff (which is good - but not a groundstanding event (at least till we get ourself to Titan ;) ) 2) Did you ever thought about writing a Vampire counts Warhammer novel? 3) You made an amazing job with Deus Ex - what we could expect from the next game

You've done a lot of licensed work for various properties (40k, Star Trek, Star Gate, Doctor Who, Blakes 7 etc, etc). How much research do you typically do for the various properties? Are you provided with background information, or is it a case of breaking out the various DVDs and sitting down and watching them?
