Hi, I have recently read your book Anastasia's Secret and I am on my way to reading The Musician's Daughter. What parts of your of your childhood, or events in your life, led you to becoming a writer, and how do they relate to how you write your books?

Hi Hails! I'm glad you've read my book and are planning to read another. What's really odd is that I was supposed to be a musician, a pianist, not a writer... That is more of an influence in The Musician's Daughter than it was in Anastasia's Secret. It was really the research I did when I was working toward my PhD that gave me the urge to tell stories, to try to interpret things differently or show them in a new light. I was a late bloomer in writing fiction! But now, I just keep going.

I'm an aspiring writer, but I'm dealing with two things: I get discouraged every single day because 96% of manuscripts are rejected, and I haven't had an idea for years, literally. There's too many people wanting to be writers, and knowing there's so much competition just kills me a little every day. When I get motivated, immediatly something appears about the industry that kills it. Any tips on how to deal with this?
