(view spoiler)[Did you always intend to end the Tearling series the way it did? I think I recall you writing a draft of the final book and scrapping it entirely. Was the ending different? (I always thought it was brilliant how you took the past and future to end things in the present.) (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Jordan,
I always intended the ending to be bittersweet; Kelsea's no happily-ever-after girl. But I had a different plan until I started the third book. At that point I took a look at the previous two and realized that since Kelsea had always been prepared to give up everything for her kingdom, there wasn't much sacrifice in having her lay down her life or her crown or any of the the other options I was contemplating. I needed to think of something that she wasn't really prepared to lose, and this is the route I chose. While I wish I had executed the ending much better (I was rushing under a hard deadline and it certainly shows in the final chapters) I'm still convinced it was the right ending for this particular trilogy. Hi! I really loved the whole trilogy, so thank you so much for letting us into that amazing world you created. My question is about a character that stood out the most to me: the Fetch. Do you think the Fetch is a hero or a villain? Did he redeem himself by helping Kelsea?

I can't stop thinking about Kelsea. I want her so much to have a happy ending. I felt like I went through the stages of grieving at the end of the 3rd book. Is her story over, or will the 4th book still involve her? I love her. She became someone, despite her parentage. She realized that her dark Robbin Hood love interest was just a man and she ruled and sacrificed, for better or worse.
