What made you decide to write under your real name vs. a pen name? Do you ever regret that choice?

Katie McGarry Hi Calley,

Truth--I never in a million years believed I would be a published author. It was quite shocking to me when it happened. Then I never expected for the books to be so well loved.

Because of that, at the start of all this, I never thought much of using a pen name or my real name. I was just excited it was all happening.

Katie isn't my given name. It's what my friends call me, but it isn't what my family calls me. It's a name I chose for myself in high school.

With that all said, it is awesome to see my name on a book. That's an experience I can't describe.

On the other hand, if I could go back, I would choose a pen name. I'm a very private person, sharing only bits and small details of my life I'm comfortable sharing. Because of that, I wish I had chosen a pen name. I like having anonymity in my every day life.
