What I do find atrociously misleading are all the 4 and 5 star reviews these books get from people who receive ARCs in exchange for “honest” reviews. For readers like me, this is a deterrent because usually these reviewers rave about the authors and the books without substantiating their opinions and most of the time I find highly rated books that don’t deserve the honor: plot holes, inconsistencies, grammar and spelling errors galore, etc. (less)
