Reviews are meant to express how one feels about a book. What I do find atrociously misleading are all the 4 and 5 star reviews these books get from people who receive ARCs in exchange for “honest” reviews. For readers like me, this is a deterrent because usually these reviewers rave about the authors and the books without substantiating their opinions and most of the time I find highly rated books that don’t deserve the honor: plot holes, inconsistencies, grammar and spelling errors galore, etc.

One star to me is a low rating! That is so disgusting to give this talented and well written author! I love her work and I give all her books high marks if I could!

Some people use the star ratings with a different meaning. Like 1star = definitely want to read and so on. A bit annoying if you ask me :(
