Hello Ellery, I just finished reading The secret, book and scone society and I was so intrigued by the story. I finished the book in one day staying awake most of the night. When can we expect to read the next book in the series? Also how many books are you going to include in the series?

I'm thrilled that you enjoyed The Secret, Book, & Scone Society! I'm just finishing the second book in the series and I believe the hardcovers will release every Halloween followed by a trade paperback version 9 months later. So I expect The Whispered Word to be released Halloween 2018. I know it's ages to wait (as a fellow booklover, I truly feel your pain!) but perhaps you'd like to give my Book Retreat mysteries a shot in the meantime. Book 4, Murder in the Locked Library, comes out in April.

I've been reading the Secret, Bone, and Book Society books (excited for the third one!), and I notice some of the characters share names of famous literary characters and that they share similar stories of those characters. Hester (Hester Prynne), Estella (Estella Havisham), Vanessa Macavity...). Are all the characters so strategically named? I couldn't find much about Nora or Jedidiah, so I was curious. Thanks!

Absolutely loved the every moment and did not want it to end. I have already pre-ordered your next book and making sure the library I work at has a copy as well. Do you ever speak in California at Pages Bookstore in Manhattan Beach?
