Salvation in Buddhism means reaching liberation from suffering here and now so one doesn’t have to wait until death to see if paradise or hell are true or not. Our minds create our realities. Listening to the Dharma enables us to stand on a ground that’s unchanging.

I've been pondering this similarity a lot recently. I think the core of Christianity, and not the tarnished beliefs of humans that have used as a mode of control, is very close to many Buddhist concepts. The bridging of these two traditions can have wonderful effects in an individual's understanding of reality.
